FROM CONCEPT TO FINAL FILM

The making of micro1, an entirely AI produced commissioned commercial, developed from original concept through previsualization, animation and final post in just four weeks.

Before final animation began, more than twelve pages of creative development and previsualization were created to give the client a clear understanding of the story, characters, environments, visual language and overall approach to the film. Because the storyboard imagery also serves as the foundation for AI animation, the process allowed the client to visualize the finished commercial with an exceptional level of detail before production began. Character, performance and motion tests, including early explorations involving historical figures such as Albert Einstein, were also developed in advance to demonstrate the creative possibilities and validate the production approach before committing to the final imagery.

Approximately two weeks were devoted to concept development, research, visual development and previsualization. A third week focused on AI animation, editing and sound design, followed by a final week of client feedback, shot refinements, script revisions, voice over development, music adjustments and final finishing.

The completed commercial achieves the scale of a major traditional production, moving across multiple historical periods, elaborate environments and large groups of period characters. Produced conventionally, a concept of this scope could require hundreds of extras, extensive wardrobe and production design, numerous locations, multiple shooting days and a budget potentially approaching seven figures. AI made it possible to realize that cinematic scale in approximately four weeks and at a fraction of the traditional production cost, while still drawing on the disciplines that shape great filmmaking: concept development, directing, writing, cinematography, production design, performance, editing, sound and storytelling.

The production model may be new, but the creative principle remains the same: a strong idea, carefully developed and carried from concept through post with a singular creative vision.

A collage of images depicting creative and scientific themes. The collage includes a person drawing on paper, a rocket launch, a girl looking thoughtfully, children in astronaut suits, and a rocket on a launch pad. The background is dark with technical sketches, and there is a section of textual content emphasizing tone and style in film and visual storytelling.

A digital storyboard titled 'Human First Campaign' from 'micro1' featuring images of historical scientists working on theories and inventions. The storyboard includes six scenes with descriptions about childhood curiosity, drawing wings, Einstein's hand sketching on a blackboard, Einstein working at a desk, a close study of Einstein's eyes, and a discovery drawing through a doorway.
