Phoenix Rising Studio is the creative home of filmmaker, visual artist, and AI director Craig Barker. With decades of experience creating work for Disney, Amazon, Microsoft, L’Oréal, Nike, Universal Studios, Dodge Ram, Mattel, Walmart, Toyota, Hyundai, and Dyson, the studio brings traditional filmmaking craft and emerging AI tools together to create cinematic films, advertising, previsualization, and visual storytelling from concept through post. The studio works with production companies, advertising agencies, entertainment studios, producers, directors, brands, and direct clients worldwide.

Craig Barker is a director, cinematographer, and visual creator whose career spans more than 300 commercials, music videos, and films. He has created work for leading global brands including Universal Studios, Disney, Warner Bros., Amazon, Walmart, Microsoft, Mattel, Black + Decker, Bosch, Dyson, L’Oréal Paris, Gucci, Acura, Nissan, Mercedes-Benz, and Hyundai.
As a cinematographer, Craig has been entrusted to photograph some of the world’s most recognizable talent, including Jennifer Lopez, Snoop Dogg, Tennis icon/GOAT Serena Williams, Cindy Crawford, Academy Award winner Billy Bob Thornton, and rock legend Alice Cooper. In 2021, Craig was accepted into the prestigious American Society of Cinematographers mentorship program.
His work has received recognition from the Clio Awards, New York Film Festival, and Ad Club Awards, and has been featured in Billboard, Daily Variety, Markee, and The New York Times.
Rooted in a lifelong love of music, fine art, photography, cinema, and storytelling, Craig brings a filmmaker’s eye to every project. Years spent shooting on film continue to influence his work today, shaping an approach built around light, composition, movement, texture, rhythm, and emotion. Whether working with traditional production or emerging AI tools, the technology remains secondary to the idea, the image, and the story.
